characteristics of malanotte del piave docg

An idea that originated in the Piave region between the 1980s and 1990s gave rise to Malanotte del Piave DOCG: Raboso with a small proportion of dried grapes, resulting in a wine that combines strength and elegance. Austere, deep, and intensely fragrant, it is the most authentic expression of its territory.

In classic red, 82 percent of the grapes are used, while the remaining 18 percent are dried on wooden crates for about 60 days. The blended wine rests for about 24 months in oak barrels and barriques; followed by aging for 6 months in bottles. MALANOTTE DOCG must be marketed after at least 36 months of aging starting on November 1 of the vintage year.

We recommend serving this wine at a temperature of about 16 to 18 degrees Celsius.

This wine is dedicated to its creator, Settimo, who is depicted on the label. Instinctive and straightforward, they converse sincerely, aware that organic farming is a modern practice that draws on centuries of Venetian farming experience. Settimo has a strong spirit, loving the land that gave birth to him and from which a fruit rich in experience and time is born, the Malanotte. The imaginative name "Il Barbarossa" derives from the traditional red beards of the men in the family.
