AUTOCTONS

A dive into the discovery of our territory!

Through the Autoctoni wines of Veneto you will delve into the history and tradition of our territory.ย ย

Three organically grown vines that will let you discover the typical features of a territory all to tell: Glera, Manzoni Bianco and Raboso.

The White Manzoni

the Veneto grape variety by tradition

The birth of the Manzoni Bianco vine variety can be traced back in the Veneto region, around 1924, to experiments put in place by Professor Luigi Manzoni at the time Headmaster of the Oenological School of Conegliano - Treviso. The aim was to search for a white and a black berry variety that could replace or flank the traditional ones then grown in the Piave DOC area. Manzoni Bianco is also known as Manzoni 6.0.13 referring to the exact position in the vineyard where the best blend was made: the 13th plant of the 6th row. Manzoni Bianco is a refined white wine. It is mineral on the palate, with notes of acacia flowers and fruity hints of peach, plum, apricot and pineapple.

The Raboso

The "rabid" grape variety of the Veneto region

Raboso is a wine with very ancient origins; this grape variety has been present in Italy since before the advent of Rome, and its name harkens back to its being "Rabbioso," given its marked acidity. Raboso Piave is an indigenous grape variety whose cultivation extends along the banks of the Piave River in Veneto. For a long time it was considered a "rustic" and hardy vine; it ripens late and its harvest, in our organic vineyards, takes place in the period between late October and November: the result is an excellent aging wine.

On the palate, Raboso is reminiscent of berries, blackberry, plum jam with spicy notes of licorice, pepper and tobacco. Its flavor is enveloping and pleasantly acidic.
